Dog Brothers Martial Arts School Program Intro Video
How Our Weapons Program Works
How can you develop an authentic weapons program for a martial arts school that provides realistic self defense, international prestige, and the type of business plan that attracts and retains students? You don’t have to. The Dog Brothers Martial Arts School Program has done it all for you. There is striking, grappling, and weapons curriculum that can complement any system or style and develop a robust weapons program for your school.
If you have heard of Dog Brothers Martial Arts then you know we have a no nonsense approach to Kali, MMA, and fighting/self-defense. But what you may not know is that only a small percentage of the people involved with the Dog Brothers Martial Arts actually fight in our Dog Brothers Gatherings of the Pack. Many you may come across in Martial Arts Schools would love to learn the techniques we have honed over decades of Real Contact Stick Fighting. Yet they would have no desire to fight in our Gatherings either. This is where the Dog Brothers Martial Arts School Program comes in. We have a progression of learning the tried and proven techniques that were born in the fights of the Gatherings, brought to the level of the average martial arts school student in a unique weapons program. This also means kids! The Dog Brothers Martial Arts School Program has what you need for your fighters and your practitioners.
Now that we have decades of testing techniques under out belts, we will continue as we have with more technique refinement, but we are now bringing what we have developed into the more mainstream martial arts community. It is our goal to teach all men, women, and children to “Walk as a warrior for all your days”. We are seeing amazing growth and receptiveness all over the world. People want to know they will enjoy studying a system of self defense. But moreover, they want to know that when they come out of the other side, they will have something real to defend themselves with.
So how can you become involved with the DBMA School Program? Just read on and we will answer some of your initial questions here about our weapons program. Once you have done that, contact Guro Mat “Boo Dog” Booe ( BooDog@DogBrothers.com ) with any specific questions you may have and then set up your first event. That is all that it takes. We assure you, there are no contracts, hidden fees, equipment you must buy from us, etc. We only want to attract and eventually approve the highest quality martial arts school owners to help us spread this literally life changing system throughout the world. If you want to know more, read on. If you already know you want to join our pack, then contact Guro Boo today!
The first step in getting the Dog Brothers Martial Arts School Program implemented in your school is to set up your first weekend seminar. (Just think about the first one now. There are two per year once you get established.)
a. This consists of a Two day (six hour total) open seminar. You may limit attendance to your students or have it open to those in or around your area.
b. This also includes an extra 1 hr kids seminar on Friday evening, and
c. an extra 1 hr instructors seminar, and much, much more.
Contact Guro Boo Dog to find out more on what goes on during the weekend.
The next step is to train your students. You will be tested and in most cases given a rank at this first seminar. All of your other martial arts experience will be taken into consideration. So with your new curriculum, training, and affiliation, we want you to spread the knowledge to your students. When testing comes around for your students you will be able to test your students up to one level below yourself. We want to make it perfectly clear that your students are your students. In our weapons program we are training you and you are training your students (they are allowed at the open seminar sessions but not the instructor one).
Want to get a taste of what you will be learning? Go to the curriculum overview page.
All students who wish to test and train under the DBMA School Program must be a part of our Association. More details on this and its painless implementation into your school when we talk directly. Once a student is a part of our association, he/she is eligible to test for the next rank WHEN YOU DECIDE. You are his/her instructor and as long as you keep to our timeline and curriculum, you will know best when he/she is ready for the next level. You must test with a designated DBMA Guro, no exceptions. Your students can test with one of us if they so choose (for a testing fee), but only with your permission of course. They are your students.
One more thing about testing. There are 12 levels with each level being represented by its own color. Our designation of rank for association members is the dog tag. Each dog tag will have the Dog Brothers Martial Arts School Program logo. The rank designation will be the color of the rubber silencer around the outside of the tag. This designation of color will allow you to permit the tags to be worn in class and in everyday life. As well, if you would prefer your students take off their rank when in a specific class you hold, other forms of designation for this rank can be used as long as the color for any given rank remains the same. We will work with you to find a solution that best fits your needs. The tag rank will be excellent for everyday wear in any case.
What is actually a part of the program?
There are several elements. As you may have guessed, weapons will be the major foundation. Yet we have found that an all around approach is absolutely necessary. We will provide instruction in single stick, double stick, staff, knife, grappling (as can be done with weapons and multiple opponents present), empty hand striking (as can be done with weapons and multiple opponents present), palm stick and other self defense (i.e.. improvised) weapons. Rest assured, this is a complete fighting system! The good thing for you is, we will work with you, keeping your existing styles in mind, so that no overlap causes problems. Want a simple weapons class component added to your school? No problem, we will help. Want a more integrated program to blend into your existing styles? No problem, we will get you there. Want an all encompassing system that you can base all of your classes on? NO PROBLEM, we’ve got you covered. We can help you reach whatever goal you set. Our weapons system is unmatched. Our empty hand system is tried by fire and has such a unique take on fighting that you will be amazed. Our grappling system has been infused with technique and fighters from some of the world’s leading grappling instructors: Machado BJJ, Gokor Chivychan and Gene LeBell’s Submission Grappling and Judo, Many forms of Filipino grappling, as well as world class wrestling instruction from the likes of MMA wrestling coach Kenny Johnson (BJ Penn, Anderson Silva, and others).
We know that for many schools, children are a major portion of the school’s enrollment and here too the DBMA SP has something to offer. Not only is Guro Mat “Boo Dog” Booe a highly regarded active fighter, he also has years of experience working with children in a way that is FUN, SAFE, and lays the foundation for excellent weapons skills in a way with which your students’ parents should feel comfortable. Just look at these pictures; the children’s smiles and enthusiastic body language tell you what you need to know.
Who is eligible for this program?
Any Martial Arts School owner with a valid business license and in possession of Martial Arts School insurance can take advantage of our program. If you don’t have one of these and have a martial arts program of average size, we can help you set up one or both of these.
Now to the big question… How much?
This is said with all honesty. Your first one event may cost you out of pocket a minimal amount. But once you are into your 2nd to 4th event you will begin to make a sizable profit on the whole weekend. We will show you how. This is a specific format that Guro Boo Dog has tested for many years with great success. At its base, you will be responsible for flights and hotel costs for two specified Dog Brother Guros as well as a flat seminar fee. The fee and accommodations will be discussed with you personally (contact Guro Boo Dog to get started). You will be given a tried and true method that will make you nearly every penny back on the first event (some have made a profit the first time out). This method will then build until you are earning a couple thousand dollars during one of these events. This is not a gimmick. It has been done for years and will at the least help you train and teach in our style at no cost to you. At best, you will be getting paid a good amount, all the while training and teaching in the world’s foremost edged and impact weapon Martial Arts Program. We want you to continue with us for many, many years. We will help you develop the format as long as you are willing to take the first step.
